For Graybar Canada, the move to Infor CloudSuite Distribution was not just a system replacement. It was part of a broader effort to modernize the business, simplify how work gets done, and create a better experience for employees and customers.
Over time, Graybar Canada’s existing hybrid setup—SX.enterprise on-premises with Infor OS in the cloud—had become harder to maintain, especially as integration needs continued to grow. Moving to CSD gave the company a chance to get onto a more modern ERP platform, move away from heavy customization, and take a fresher look at long-standing processes.
That included some very practical day-to-day improvements. In areas like Accounts Payable, parts of the process had remained paper-heavy for years. The CSD migration opened the door to streamlining that work and building a cleaner foundation for connected applications.
Graybar Canada selected NSA based on a long working relationship and a high level of trust in the team. The familiarity was there, but so was the confidence that NSA would stay engaged, solve problems, and help the project move forward when things got complicated.
During the implementation, Graybar Canada gained a better understanding of important areas like the Conference Room Pilot process and the full reporting landscape across the business. That added clarity helped the team get more prepared and better positioned for go-live.
By the time go-live arrived, the project had real momentum. Graybar Canada described the final stretch as smooth and, at times, even fun—a reflection of the confidence the team had built along the way.
NSA’s support stood out throughout testing, training, and go-live. The project also underscored a simple but important lesson when working with third-party applications: communicate clearly, make no assumptions, and test thoroughly.
Since going live on CSD, Graybar Canada has already seen benefits. The updated user interface has improved the day-to-day experience, single sign-on has made access easier, and integrations are more manageable. The company is already seeing that value in areas like Salesforce and other connected systems.
There have also been operational improvements. Employees can get to information more easily, and the business now has stronger controls in place to catch order issues before invoicing, reducing unnecessary credits and rebills. On the IT side, EDI transactions are easier to track, and updated forms have been well received by customers.
One of the biggest wins has been the opportunity to simplify older processes that had become more complicated than they needed to be. Graybar Canada pointed to invoice processing as one example: instead of running 33 separate jobs, one for each branch, the team can now run a single process.
The project also showed that this kind of change is bigger than IT. Success depended on people across the organization stepping in, helping with training, closing gaps, and working through issues as they came up.
Graybar Canada would strongly recommend NSA for a CloudSuite Distribution implementation. In their view, Infor provided a strong software platform, and NSA brought the hands-on support and customer-specific guidance needed to make the migration successful.
For Graybar Canada, CSD is more than a new ERP system. It is a foundation for what comes next.
